BHQFU
Bruce High Quality Foundation
Due to the process-based nature of the Session program, this project will undergo constant modifications; the features of this page provide accruing information on the project’s developments.
Bruce High Quality Foundation will work at Recess, staging a series of alternative free classes using Recess as a public forum for the Bruce High Quality Foundation University (BHQFU). BHQFU defines itself as an unaccredited university where “students are teachers are administrators are staff… a university, a space for higher education and research, a community of scholars; an expansion of the BHQF practice to include more participants.” Visitors to Recess will witness “student” work in progress and, in some cases, join classes and performances.
Examples of classes at Recess include “Occult Shenanigans,” in which participants will create a map of the past, present, and future of the art world based on remote viewing; “The Artist at Work,” which will incorporate painting critiques into the filming and restaging of the Camus story by the same name; “BHQFU Detective Agency,” which will invite “agents” to take on investigative projects, focusing on the documentation of that process. These classes will use Recess as a studio, set, stage and lecture hall.
